Whether the world recession ends in 2010 or not is not up to you, but you getting better... that's entirely in your control, take responsibility!

Now as a leader you set the standards, and in 2010 those standards had better be strong and focussed on the right things. I dare you to raise the bar...

Every year I set a theme for my business and this year it's all about FOCUS.
On my desk is a typed affirmation I came across many years ago by Brian Tracy. "Is what I am doing right now taking me closer or away from where I need to be?" Why not type the affirmation up and put it on your desk as a reminder to stay on track.

5 Tips on How to Raise the Bar in 30 Days
Too often within organisations we focus on the big picture, forgetting that success happens one step at a time. Why not call your team together and work on this five step strategy.
1. What do you want to achieve in the next 30 days?
2. Why do you want to achieve it?
3. Who will you connect with to help you?
4. Where do you stand in relation to the goal?
5. How are you going to get there? (Example what three tasks per day will you and your team do to get you to the goal?)

5 Tips for Being Courageous in 2010
1. Stop being afraid.
2. Don't let fear undermine your vision and hopes.
3. Feel, see and act courageous, it is the opposite of fear.
4. Courage does not come from the outside, it comes from inside you. (Own it).
5. Before you go to sleep at night, set your goals for what you want the next day.

5 Tips on How to Make Things Happen in 2010
1. Be committed to personal excellence.
2. Create your own local think tank.
3. Only take advice from people who know what works. (They have a history or are successful at leading others to success.)
4. Be clear. What are the three initiatives you want to achieve in 2010?
5. Stop talking about it, just do it!
